In tomorrow’s publication of Nature, the results of an experiment at CERN of the effect of Cosmic Rays on clouds will be revealed . Even before the results were publicly known the director of CERN made a comment to the effect that the report should be politically correct towards Climate Change, as the implications of the experiment show the Earth’s climate is altered by the influence of Cosmic Rays on the earth .
This theory was pooh- poohed for a long time by the in-crowd of climatologists as it obviously has an impact of the research into Climate Change which as far as I understand, blames everything on the effects of humans . After Climategate and the proof of cherry picking data to fit the Global Warming theory, this is another big blow for the Climate Change lobby .
Climate Change, Global Warming, call it what you want, has gone beyond science and turned into a war . It is not about the science anymore but who is right rather than a measured investigation into Climate .
There is a genuine movement towards green energy and to a certain extent, this has been forced on the world due to the depletion of fossil fuels and in my opinion, is a ‘good thing’ but Climate Change has been co-opted by the politicians and industrialists with their own agendas . Where I live in Britain, it is very hard at present to believe in Global Warming as temperatures seem to be going down rather than up . The BBC releases data every year which shows an eternal upswing in temperature but you can’t fool all of the people, all of the time .
Climate Change is in danger of being discredited which would be a shame, as our effects on climate should be studied but in the round rather than as an isolated aspect of Climatology . For some reason, I am reminded of the old Danny Kaye song – The Kings New Clothes :
